When we surf the Internet, most websites and online services use our IP address to identify us. For this reason, if our IP has been “banned” or blocked on any platform or server, for whatever reason, we will never be able to connect to that PC or device again (until the block is lifted, of course).
When the PC is connected to our home network, the blocked IP address is the public IP address of the router that manages internet access. Therefore is a good way to solve the problem Change the router’s IP address to a new IP.
Differences between a static IP and a dynamic IP
Before starting, it would be wise to clarify the difference between a static IP and a dynamic IP.
- if you have one Static IP means that Whenever you connect to the internet, you do so with the same IP addressso that if a website or service blocks your access, you will never be able to access this resource again, since when you try to enter it, you will be identified by always keeping the same IP address.
- If you navigate with a dynamic IP, Every time you connect to the internet, your IP address changes randomly from one address to another.
Who decides if your IP address is static or dynamic? In this case, this decision is entirely in the hands of your ISP or ISP, and usually there is no way to change it (some providers may only offer the service for a fee, but this is not common).

How to renew a static IP
If you have a fixed IP and need to renew your IP for whatever reason you can do this simple trick: Turn off your router overnightleave it unplugged for several hours and plug it back in the next day.
This way your static IP will be released and the next time you reconnect the router you will be assigned a new free IP different from the one you used previously.
I can’t promise that this trick will always work for you since you’re totally dependent on your ISP, but it’s a great solution to consider if you’re on a budget, and in my particular case, I can assure you that I’ve tried multiple times and it works like a charm.
